Glacial describes anything related to glaciers or ice ages — 'glacial ice', 'a glacial valley' shaped by moving ice long ago. But in everyday, non-scientific talk, people mostly use 'glacial' as a colorful way to describe something extremely slow or extremely cold and — 'the meeting moved at a glacial pace' means it was slow, and 'she gave him a glacial stare' means a cold, look.
