You will also hear it in news about illness: a disease may be genetically passed on, meaning it can run in a family because of genes, not because of a cold you catch. The word belongs with science, medicine, and careful news talk. Though actually, people sometimes use it as a joke for “by nature” or “from birth” even when they are not talking about real genes at all (“I’m genetically messy”). That is play, not careful talk. The adverb does not mean “usually”; that is generally, a completely different word that only looks a little like it.
