If you are gazundered, someone has already agreed to buy your house, then — often very late — says they will only buy it for less than the price you both named. The seller is in a weak spot: they may have already promised money on their next home, so they swallow the cut rather than watch the whole sale die. It is the mirror of gazumping, and it shows up more when prices are sliding, not rising. British home stories and papers use it; it is informal but widely understood there. Though actually, in parts of northern England gazunder is also an old colloquial noun for a pot kept under the bed at night, from “goes under”. That is a different word with the same spelling.
