In writing, g is the short form of gram or grams, the small unit we use to weigh light things: a sweet, a pinch of salt, a tablet of medicine. You almost always see it after a number, with a space in careful writing: 5 g, 500 g. It belongs on packets, recipes, and science notes. You do not read it aloud as the letter name; when you speak, you say gram or grams. Though actually, the same little g is used for other jobs in science (for example, g for the pull of the Earth), so the numbers and the words around it tell you which one you have. On food, it is almost always grams. One is 1,000 g. People write a small g for grams; a capital G in science often means something else entirely.
g 是公克的縮寫，用來秤輕的東西，像一顆糖、一小撮鹽或一片藥。它通常寫在數字後面，像「5 g」、「500 g」，正式寫作時中間會空一格，多見於包裝、食譜和科學筆記。唸出來的時候不唸字母，要說「gram」或「grams」。同一個小寫字母在科學裡還有別的用途，例如代表地球的重力，所以要看前後的數字和字來判斷。談食物時幾乎都是克，一公斤是 1,000 g。寫克用小寫，大寫在科學裡常是完全不同的意思。
