Futurity is a formal, rather old or literary word for the time after the present — the future, spoken as a grand noun. Writers use it when they want weight: the promise of futurity, the mysteries of futurity. It does not name a date or a plan; it names time-still-to-come as a place or a condition. Almost nobody says it in the shop or in class. Ordinary English is the future. You may also meet futurity in American horse racing (a race for young horses), but that is a special stretch; the meaning here is simply ‘time after now’.
