Fulsomely is how you do something when the praise, the thanks, or the apology is laid on too thick and starts to sound . Someone may thank you fulsomely, praise a film fulsomely, or apologise fulsomely: the words keep coming, the compliments keep piling up, and the listener begins to wonder what is really going on. It is the adverb that belongs with fulsome in its “too much praise, a bit fake” sense — the sense a is meant to learn. You will meet it in reviews and rather formal writing more than in chat. Though actually, because fulsome itself has a messy history (it once meant simply “abundant”, and some people still hear it that way), fulsomely can, in uncareful use, sound like “very fully, very ”.
