Fulham is an area of west London, by the river. For a long time it has been a fashionable place to live — pleasant streets, parks, cafés, and homes that cost a lot. Football fans around the world know the name because of Fulham Football Club, whose ground is there. In English you say FOOL-əm; you do not say “full-ham.” The place name comes from Old English Fullanhām or Fullanhōm: a person’s name, Fulla, plus hamm, land in the bend of a river. Though actually, there is an old, rare slang noun fulham for dice made to cheat, because people said those dice were made in this area. That is a different meaning. Here we mean the London place.
