A Frisbee is a light plastic disc, shaped a bit like a plate, that you throw spinning through the air so another person can catch it. People play this as a game in parks and on beaches, and the game itself is also called Frisbee. Though actually, Frisbee started as a company name printed on the disc; people liked the word so much that they began using it for almost any flying disc of this kind, even ones made by other companies. In careful talk some people say flying disc instead, because the name still belongs to the company. You can also use it as a verb: to Frisbee something means to throw it the way you throw one of these discs. It is everyday, informal English.
