Freetown is the capital city of Sierra Leone, a country on the Atlantic coast of West Africa. It is also the country’s main port: ships come in and out there. Write it with a capital F, because it is a place name, not a common noun. The name is literally free + town. It was given that name because the place was settled by people who had been enslaved and then freed. When someone says Freetown, they mean this one city — not any town that happens to be free.
自由城(獅子山首都;新聞也寫弗里敦)
