Freepost is a British mail arrangement: you send a letter or form to a company, and the company pays the postage. You must use their published Freepost address (a special name or number). You cannot write “Freepost” on any envelope and post it to a friend. Though actually, it is for writing to that organisation — a catalogue form, a reply slip, a complaint — not for birthday cards. The “post” here is the mail, not a message on social media. In Taiwan the close idea is 免付郵資 or a 商業回函 envelope, but shops do not call it Freepost. Like , it often takes a capital F because it is a named service. It is a UK classroom and word; American English would more often talk about a business-reply envelope.

- There are greater constraints on the complexity and length of the questionnaire: if it is not short, simple and easy to complete the respondent is likely to bin it. A stamped addressed envelope or a freepost number can be used to facilitate return.
