    Freeform music or art does not follow a usual shape or plan, and it tries new ideas. A freeform jazz piece may never come back to a chorus you can hum; a freeform sculpture may not look like a vase or a person. People also write it free-form. Radio can be called freeform too: the DJ plays what they like, not a tight playlist — a stretch of the same idea. It is a compliment when the point is freedom to invent; it can sound messy if the listener wanted a clear song. The free here is about structure, not about price.
