A fossil is what's left of a plant or animal that lived a very long time ago, preserved in rock, sometimes for millions of years. Dinosaur bones found in the ground are fossils. People also use 'fossil' in a joking way to describe an old-fashioned idea, thing, or even an old person who doesn't like to change with the times, like 'my dad still uses a fax machine — he's such a fossil.'
化石;(口語玩笑)老古板、老東西
組成From Latin 'fossilis,' meaning dug up.
