A flashcard is a small card used for learning. One side has a word, a picture, or a question; the other side has the meaning, the translation, or the answer. You look, you say what you think, then you check — a quick “flash” of seeing. Teachers hand them out; students make their own; phone apps now do the same job with a swipe. Neutral classroom English, used everywhere. Though actually, a flashcard is only a tool. It helps you hold a form or a meaning in your head; it does not by itself teach you how to use the word in a real conversation.
