Flaccidity is the state of being flaccid — softness and weakness where you would expect firmness. It is an abstract noun, mostly in medical or scientific writing. You might read about muscle flaccidity after an injury, or about a plant’s flaccidity when it needs water. Everyday English prefers “it was limp” or “it went soft.” You do not often hear this word in the street.
