Five-a-side football is football with five players on each team, not eleven. The pitch is smaller, the game is faster, and it is very often played indoors. In Britain it is a hugely common way to play after work or at a sports centre. A side here means a team, not the side of the field. Though actually it sits close to futsal, it is not always the same sport: futsal has its own ball, court, and official rules. Five-a-side is the everyday British name for the five-player game, which may or may not follow those rules.
「Five-a-side football」是每隊五個人的足球，不是十一人制。場地比較小，比賽節奏比較快，而且常常在室內進行。在英國非常普遍，人們下班後或到運動中心就會玩。這裡的 side 指的是一隊，不是場地的一邊。
它和 futsal 很接近，但不一定是同一種比賽。futsal 有自己的球、場地和正式規則，而這個說法是英國人日常用來稱呼五人制的名字，不一定照那套規則進行。
