    Finagling is finagle while it is happening, or the name for that kind of getting. You are still obtaining something that was hard to get, by unusual or slightly unfair methods — bending a rule, working a , talking someone into a yes they did not quite mean to give. As a verb form: she is finagling a discount. As a noun: it took a bit of finagling. The noun is handy because English speakers often want to name the fiddling itself, not only the result. Same informal, mostly American colour as finagle: more a raised than a police report.
