A fetish is something a person is unusually and strongly focused on, often in a sexual way — an object or body part that isn't the 'expected' focus of attraction. Outside of that main modern use, 'fetish' can also mean an object that a traditional culture believes has magic or spiritual power, though that older anthropology use is less common in daily English now. Because of the sexual meaning, the word can sound blunt or awkward in casual conversation.
