Ferny is not the name of the plant. The plant is a : green, leaves, no flowers. Ferny is the describing word. A ferny bank or a ferny valley is covered with those plants. A ferny leaf is cut into fine, feather-like parts, like a — even when the plant is not a true . You will meet it more in writing about the countryside than in city talk. It is a quiet, rather old-fashioned adjective, not a science word.
