    Fave is a short, friendly way to say favourite: a person or thing you like best. "That's my fave song." "She's my fave." You will hear it in speech, texts, and light writing. It can name the thing (a noun) or sit in front of a noun, a little loosely, like an adjective. Though actually, it is chat English, not exam English — in a formal letter or a school essay, write favourite, or favorite if you are using American spelling. Older people may not use fave much; younger people use it all the time.
