Falconry is the skill — and the sport — of using falcons and other hunting birds to catch animals. People have it for many hundreds of years, in Europe, the Middle East, and East Asia. It is not everyday English; you meet it in history, museums, and specialist clubs. Though actually, modern falconry is often about showing the birds, or helping airports scare other birds away, not only about hunting for food.

The sport of hunting by using trained birds of prey, especially falcons and hawks.
