Euroland is an informal name for the group of European countries that use the euro as their everyday money. It is not a real country on a map, and no government puts this word on official paper. Politicians and news people used it a lot around 1998 to 2002, when the euro was just coming in. These days the tidier word is eurozone, but Euroland still turns up when a writer wants a lighter, almost name — as if those countries were one big land of euro coins. You can drive from Germany into Italy and stay in Euroland the whole way; you do not change money. That is the point of the nickname.
