A eunuch is a man whose have been removed. In some old kingdoms, especially in parts of Asia and the Middle East, eunuchs were made to serve in the palace and to guard the ruler’s wives, because they could not father children. The English word comes from a Greek word that first meant something like “bed-keeper”: a person who looked after the inner rooms. Today the historical sense is the main one you will meet in history books. People have also used eunuch as a hard insult, or as a picture-word for someone with no real power, but that use is and old-fashioned. It is a formal, rather old word. In careful talk about living people, you would name the medical fact more , not reach for this label.
組成From Middle English eunuk, from Middle French eunuque, from Latin eunūchus, from Ancient Greek εὐνοῦχος (eunoûkhos), from εὐνή (eunḗ, “bed”) + ἔχω (ékhō, “to have, keep”). Originally probably used of a bed-chamber attendant.
