Esthetical is the American spelling of aesthetical. It is an adjective about beauty, art, and how something looks and feels — not about whether it is useful or cheap. An esthetical choice is one you make because it is pleasing to the eye or to your sense of taste. You might talk about esthetical value or esthetical judgement. Though actually, most people today do not say esthetical at all. They say esthetic or aesthetic, or they just say it looks good. Esthetical still shows up in older writing and in quite formal talk about art. It is not a spelling of : an is a person. American English often esthetic / esthetical; British English keeps ae: aesthetic / aesthetical. Same family, different letters. It has not really followed the loose internet use of “an aesthetic” for a whole lifestyle. It still mostly means “to do with beauty and artistic taste.” It is also not ethical (right and wrong), though the two sit close on the page.
