Entebbe is a town in southern Uganda, in East Africa, by Lake Victoria. English speakers mainly know it because of its international airport — that is where many planes into Uganda land. In 1976, enemies of Israel took control of a passenger plane and made it fly there. Israeli soldiers later flew in and saved most of the people on board (learner dictionaries often say 91 passengers). People still say “the raid on Entebbe” for that night, so the name can mean the town, the airport, or that famous rescue, depending on the sentence. It is a place name, so you write it with a capital letter.
