To enrage someone is to make them very angry — not a bit , not merely cross, but pushed into real rage. You enrage a person, a crowd, or even an animal; the feeling itself is rage, and this verb is 'put into rage'. News and stories like it: the decision enraged voters; his comments enraged her. It is fairly strong and a little formal; in everyday talk a student might just say made me so angry. Though actually, the form you will meet most is the adjective enraged — she was enraged by the news — more than the live verb at the dinner table. It is almost always about beings who can feel; using it of a broken machine is a joke, not the usual sense.
