In English schools, the EBacc (short for English Baccalaureate) is not one exam and not a university degree, though the name sounds like one. It is a way of saying a student has got grade C or above in a set of subjects: English, mathematics, history or geography, a science, and a language. Schools later started using number grades, but the idea stayed the same: this mix, at a pass that used to be called C. The government uses it to judge schools — how many of their students hit this combination. Students mostly meet it as a school target: take a language, take history or geography, so you can ‘get the EBacc.’ It is about England’s school system. It is not the French baccalauréat, and it is not a certificate you hang on the wall like a diploma.

    英國中等教育學士文憑(EBacc)。不是大學學士學位,而是英國 GCSE 會考的一套科目及格門檻。
