An e-signature is a signature made , so a document can be agreed to without ink on paper. That might be typing your name, drawing with a finger on a screen, clicking “I agree,” or a stronger, locked-and-checked mark used in law and business so people can trust that it was really you. How serious it feels depends on the situation: a delivery driver handing you a screen is casual; a contract with a certified e-signature is formal. People also say electronic signature. It is a practical, slightly official word. Though actually, not every scribble on a phone is as strong in law as the heavy kind — countries draw that line in different places.
e-signature 指用電子方式完成的簽名，讓文件不用紙和墨水也能確認同意。它可以是打上自己的名字、用手指在螢幕上寫，或點選同意的按鈕，也可以是法律和商業上使用、經過鎖定與驗證的正式簽章，確保真的是本人。它正式或隨意的程度要看情境：送貨司機請你在螢幕上簽名，算是隨手；有認證電子簽章的合約，就很正式。也常說「electronic signature」。這是一個實用、帶一點公文感的字。不過，手機上隨手畫的簽名，法律效力不一定跟正式的那種一樣，各國對這條界線的劃法也不同。
