A dweeb is a person other people call weak, a bit strange, and not cool — not popular, not in fashion, often awkward in a group. It is an informal American insult, the kind you hear in school talk and in older US films. It lives near nerd and geek, but those two have grown kinder; some people now say nerd with a smile. Dweeb did not get that upgrade. It still sounds , and a little teenage. Careful adults often pick a gentler word. Though actually, it is only a social jab, not a medical or technical word.

組成It does not split into pieces that mean anything today. It showed up as US college slang around 1968, and is probably related to feeb, an old unkind word for someone weak. Later some people claimed D.W.E.E.B. stood for 'Dim-Witted Eastern-Educated Boor' — that is a joke made up after the word already existed, not where it really came from.
