Dushanbe is the capital city of Tajikistan, in Central Asia. It is where the government sits, and it is the country's biggest city. In English we treat it as a place name, with a capital D, the way we say Taipei or Tokyo. Though actually, the Tajik name is tied to Monday — the town grew around a Monday market — but in English that story is extra; you do not need it to use the word. Students in Taiwan will meet it in geography, on a map, or in the news, not in daily chat.
