Dubs is the verb 'dub' with an -s, used for he, she, or it. It has two common jobs. First, in movies and TV: when a film is dubbed, the original speech is replaced with a new recording in another language — a studio 'dubs' a Japanese cartoon into English by adding new English voices over the same pictures. Second, to 'dub' someone something means to give them a nickname or title, often a little or — 'the magazine dubs her the next big thing.'
