The Druze are a people and a faith. Most live in the mountains of Lebanon and Syria, and there is also a Druze community in Israel. Their teaching takes ideas from the Bible and from the Quran, and from older philosophy, and then goes its own way — so they do not sit in the box 'Muslim' or the box 'Christian,' even though those books are part of the story. The community has kept itself close: people are born Druze; you cannot really join from outside. In English, Druze can name the people (the Druze, a Druze) or describe them (a Druze village, Druze beliefs). Always start it with a capital D. Though actually, they have their own Arabic name for themselves; English almost always just says Druze.
