A druggie is someone who often takes illegal drugs. It is informal, and it is not a kind word. People say it in speech more than in careful writing, and it can sound as if the speaker is looking down on that person. Doctors, teachers, and news writers usually say drug user instead. You may also see the spelling druggy. Though actually, in real talk people sometimes throw the word at anyone they think takes drugs, even if they do not know how often — so it is more a rough label than a careful description.
