    A dramedy is a film or a television programme that is funny in some parts and serious in others. It is not a pure comedy, where almost everything is a joke, and it is not a pure drama, where almost everything is heavy. You laugh, then you feel something, then you laugh again. People made the word by sticking drama and comedy together, and you will hear it most from and from people who talk a lot about TV. It is informal, and a bit trendy. Though actually, many shows people just call “a comedy” are really dramedies — they simply do not use the label.
