Double-digit talks about the numbers 10 to 99 — any number written with two figures, like 12, 45, or 99. You meet it a lot in news, sport, and school: double-digit growth, a double-digit score, double-digit inflation. Often it means “quite a lot” without naming the exact number: the team won by a double-digit margin. It feels a bit news-like; in casual talk you might just say “in the tens.” Below 10 is single-digit; 100 and up is three-digit. Though actually, people almost never use it for a quiet little 10 — they reach for it when the two-figure number feels big enough to notice.
