A domineering person tries to control other people and does not care about their feelings or ideas. We use it to show — it is a complaint, not praise. You hear it about a parent, a partner, a boss, sometimes a teacher: someone who takes up all the air in the room. People also stretch it a little, to a voice, a look, or even a style of running a place, when that thing feels as if it will not let you breathe. It does not mean 'strong', 'confident', or 'a good leader'. Those can be kind words; this one is not. In class you will meet this adjective far more often than the verb .
組成The -ing form of the verb domineer, used as an adjective. The verb came from Dutch domineren, from Middle French dominer, 'to rule'.
