Something dizzying makes you feel : your head swims, the ground seems to tilt, you may not want to look down. A glass lift, a steep cliff road, a spinning ride can all be dizzying. People stretch it a lot, and that is now the common use: a dizzying speed, a dizzying number of choices, dizzying prices — so fast, so many, or so high that your head cannot keep up, even if your body is still. It is an adjective from the verb, a little stronger and more colourful than “very fast” or “very high.” You will see it in news and everyday writing; it is not slang, but it is vivid rather than dry.
組成dizzy + -ing. The -ing here turns the feeling into “causing that feeling.”
