Diversified describes something that has been made more varied — made up of many different types, instead of just one. You will hear it most in business and money talk: a company 'diversifies' when it starts selling different kinds of products instead of just one, so if one part of the business struggles, the others can still succeed. An investment portfolio is 'diversified' when the money is spread across many different things, so the risk is not all in one place. Outside business, you can also say a diversified economy, or a diversified group of people, meaning it includes many different kinds.
