    Something disquieting makes you feel — not sudden fear, more a slow worry that will not sit still. News, a look, a silence, a small change in a place you know: they can all be disquieting. The word is a little formal and a little literary; in everyday talk people more often say worrying, , or it doesn’t feel right. Though actually, disquieting is quieter than scary.
