1. 1

A dishcloth is a cloth you use to wash plates, cups, and pans. It gets wet, often soapy, and you wipe the dishes with it in the sink. It is a home word, not a fancy one. Though actually, English speakers do not all mean the same piece of cloth. In Britain, people can be quite : a dishcloth is for washing; a tea towel is for drying. In American English you may hear dishcloth or for the washing one, and dish towel for drying. Do not picture a thick sponge unless that is what your family uses — a dishcloth is cloth, usually thin, and it can look a bit tired and stained, which is normal. Older people may still say dishcloth without thinking; younger people may just say cloth or rag.

    洗碗布(用來洗的那塊布,不是拿來擦乾的;擦乾的多半叫抹布或廚房紙巾)
