1. 1

A disfigurement is damage to the way someone or something looks, and also the damaged look that is left afterwards. We use it most about a person's body, and very often about the face: a burn, a deep scar, an illness, or an attack can leave a disfigurement. It can name the mark itself, or the state of living with that changed look.

A disfigurement毀容 is是 damage對某人或某物外觀造成的損害 to the way someone or something looks, and also而且也是 the damaged look that is left afterwards損害之後留下來的樣子。We use it most我們最常用它 about a person's body來說人的身體, and very often而且很常 about the face說到臉: a burn燒傷, a deep scar很深的疤, an illness疾病, or an attack或攻擊 can leave a disfigurement都可能留下這樣的損傷。It can name它可以指 the mark itself那個痕跡本身, or the state of living with或指帶著...生活的狀態 that changed look那個改變後的樣貌。

Doctors, lawyers, and news writers use the word; it feels serious and a little stiff, not like kitchen-table talk.

Doctors, lawyers, and news writers醫生、律師和新聞寫作者 use the word會用這個詞; it feels它聽起來 serious and a little stiff嚴肅又有點生硬, not like不像 kitchen-table talk餐桌閒聊的用語。

Though actually, people also stretch it to places: a huge new building can be called a disfigurement of an old street, meaning it spoils the look, even though the street is not a body. It covers both the act of spoiling the look and the result.

Though actually不過, people也 stretch it to places把這個詞用在地方上: a huge new building一棟龐大的新建築 can be called可能被稱為 a disfigurement of an old street一條老街的毀容, meaning意思是 it spoils the look它破壞了外觀, even though即使 the street is not a body這條街不是身體。It covers這個詞涵蓋 both the act of spoiling the look破壞外觀的行為 and和 the result破壞後的結果。

It has nothing to do with a number, even though figure can mean a number in other English.

It has nothing to do with它跟...一點關係也沒有 a number數字, even though儘管 figurefigure這個字 can mean a number在其他英文用法裡可以指數字 in other English。
