- 1
A digipack is a cardboard case for a CD — and sometimes a DVD — that folds open from the middle, more like a book or a folder than a hard plastic jewel case. A plastic tray usually holds the disc against the card. Record companies use it when they want the album to feel special, with extra panels for photos and lyrics. Though actually, the well-known trademark spelling is Digipak; people write digipack too. It is a product word, not something you need in everyday chat.
