A digicam is a camera that stores pictures as computer files, not on film, so you can copy them onto a computer. The word is a short, informal way to say digital camera; it began as a trade name. You hear it in casual speech, and it already feels a little old: once almost every camera became digital, people often just said camera. It is not a video-only camera (that would be a camcorder, or now a phone), though some digicams can shoot a little video too. In careful writing, spell out digital camera.
數位相機(台灣;中國大陸較常說「数码相机」)
