- 1露水
Dew is the little drops of water that appear on grass, leaves, cars, and spider webs by early morning. They are not rain. In the night the air cools, and water that was hiding in the air turns into tiny drops on cold surfaces. By late morning the sun usually takes them away. It is a quiet everyday nature word, and a favourite in poems and songs because it feels fresh and gentle. Though actually people often say “morning dew,” as if dew belonged only to dawn; that is when we notice it, but it forms in the cool of the night. You can also meet it in set pictures like “dew on the grass.” It is a very old English word for this kind of moisture.

From Middle English dew, from Old English dēaw 'dew'; cognate with German Tau.
源自古英文 dēaw「露水」，和德文 Tau 同源。
組成From Old English dēaw, “dew.” Related to German Tau and Dutch dauw. An old twin (doublet) of the rare word dag. The verb, now uncommon, meant to wet with dew.
