To destress is to calm yourself after a busy or worrying time. People destress with a walk, a bath, a funny video, or a quiet weekend — anything that lets the tightness go. You will hear it a lot in offices, magazines, and wellness talk; it is informal to neutral, and fairly new as an everyday word. Though actually, people stretch it: a shop may sell a “destress kit”, as if a product could do the relaxing for you. You destress (yourself), or something destresses you. It is the opposite feeling of being stressed — but it is not the word distress, which means deep worry or pain.
紓壓(台灣很常這樣說;也說減壓、放鬆)
