1. 1

Dehydration is the condition of not having enough water in your body — it can happen from not drinking enough, sweating a lot in heat, or being sick, and can range from mild (a headache, feeling tired) to dangerous. The same word can describe the process of removing water from food on purpose, to preserve it — dehydrated fruit or camping meals have had their water taken out so they last longer and weigh less.
