The past form of : to have officially taken a priest out of the job for doing something wrong. The usual form you actually meet, though, is not a verb people conjugate at the table but an adjective in the news. A defrocked priest is a priest who has already been stripped of office. Same range as : strictly clergy, sometimes stretched to other professions. The -ed is doing real work — it tells you the thing has already been done to that person.
