A person who dawdles: someone who takes a long time and will not hurry. Informal, and usually a small scold rather than a serious insult — closer to calling someone a slowcoach than calling them lazy in a cruel way. Parents and teachers use it of children who lag behind; adults use it of themselves with a half-smile (I'm a dawdler in the morning). The -er here is a person, not “more dawdle.”
