A cyclamen is a plant grown for its flowers, which are usually pink, red, or white. The often bend back, so the bloom looks a little like a bird in flight, and the leaves are often heart-shaped with pale marks. People grow it in pots indoors, especially in cool months; wild kinds grow around the Mediterranean. Garden shops and florists use the word; it is not a daily home word unless you like plants.
