Cyberloafing is when you are at work or at school, you should be working, and instead you are on the internet — news, shopping, messages, videos. The loafing part means hanging about and not doing the job. Managers, researchers, and newspapers use this word; it is a little jokey and a little judging. A friend would more often say they were messing around online. It is not the same as using the internet to do your work. Though actually, the line can be soft: one message looks small, but an afternoon of shopping tabs is cyberloafing. People also do it on a phone, not only a computer.
