Curvature is the fact that something is bent, or how much it is bent. A straight road has no curvature; a tight bend has a lot. Doctors talk about the curvature of the spine when a back is not straight. Scientists talk about the curvature of a lens, a surface, even space. In ordinary talk people often just say curve or bend. Though actually those name the shape you can see; curvature is the more careful word for the state, or the degree. You see a curve; you measure curvature.
